Busy day and had my major preso with NY in the afternoon which made me very restless all day. So at lunch I went to the bike shop and ended up buying a new commuter bike. Looking forward to bashing it to smitherines. The S2 is an amazing bike and one I will always cherish but it is doing it a serious disservice by flogging it into London and back every day.
Anyhow the bike purchase successeded in sufficiently distracting me and thank goodness it went well and got approved. A big monkey off of my back.
Then it was over to Chelsea for drinks with work and arranged to ride with Michael. The 10k of bike lanes along the embankment to Chelsea are nothing short of spectacular. They've even coloured them in blue and so it has the feel of being on a running track!
Nice place 'The Phene' and stayed for a fair few before throwing the bike shoes back on and hammering it home over Chelsea bridge, Vauxhall and then picking up my usual route from Camberwell. Over 40 ks for the day and the ride home from Chelsea took 40 mins. It would have taken longer in a cab and with public transport at least double that.
The bike is a revelation.
Pics of all boys now with T starting back today.
* Lucas was moaning last night how his teacher is picking on him. Unlike at home he has always been a dream at school so something is definitely up there. Will monitor. Not having it if he is!
