Right achilles

Still sore but have been rolling which has helped. Ran 9k at lunch in 4.37s. That's it for today.

Oldie of Ryder from last year's convert :)

More

Ran in fitness wise feeling good but the right Achilles is really sore. Back on the bike tomorrow.
3k loop from TS made for another 20k day. Self preservation in a very busy period.

Q: What is the difference between a Stoke City fan and a baby?
A: The baby will stop whining after a while.

Commute in run

Up early with a shit load on. 2 presentations and multiple deals on the go and the Christmas clock is ticking. Realiatically knew I was going to have no window and so decided on the run in. 17 hilly ks feeling quite sprightly but the right Achilles is troublesome.

20 minutes of strength at lunch with focus on running core and then 3k jog home from TS made it another 20k day. Home to bed super late.

Double (100k for week)

Busy ferrying boys to respective venues but had window just before Lukie's game so ran 9k quite hard in 4.12s getting quicker.  Short shower then drove Lukie to his game in Sydenham. Jogged whilst he was warming up and a bit of the second half.

Strange old game as Bromley really should have been 2-0 up but went tin 2-0 down but disintegrated like a certain Pardew team and lost 6-0. Oh dear and the bubble has burst. I reckon that is the first defeat in months for all of the boys' teams. Ryder tho won 6-1 and so did Jack's team by same margin, Jack though still out injured.

20k today and 100k for the week including 45ish ks at 4s or better.

Movie night:

Lukie #10

Worked from home and so did a quick gym session with Jacquers before jogging 4ks home.

This boy is #10 today.

Park Run

4th in 17.54. Not much else other than felt ok. Foxy came past me at 1ish ks and then the positions did not change. Did tho get beaten by a 14 year old kid who ran 17.35ish.

I had the two younger knucklebehads in the afternoon with no car and so had to get them to their performing arts school which was no mean feat. 2 busses later we finally got there. I then jogged 10ish ks inbetween before doing the same 2 busses back.

The bus journey home was memorable as when we got on the first bus we were losing 3-1. 9 minutes later and by the time we got off bus #1 we were 4-3 ahead - mild hysteria ensued. A short change over onto bus #2 and before we had time to take our seats we had lost 5-4. Moral of the story: give Pardew his P45 and should have stayed on bus #1.

20ks done today. Riding legs still causing havoc with my running.

Happy Thanksgiving

Quieter day with Thanksgiving. 16 years at a US company and it's a big deal. It's probably bigger than Christmas for most of my colleagues.

Did a quick speed session at lunch which went 1k warm up and then 6 x 1k (3.26s) with a 400m float (4.37 pace). Pretty tired after but got lots done and for once got home to give J a hand with the boys. They are an almighty handful.

Lewis Taylor

Feeling average this morning after drink up. Headed to gym to the dread-tread-deadmill and is so utterly mind numbing that the only way to get through it is to go quick. Another standard 10k in 4s.

Commuted on the trains today. WTF.

JJ reminded me about Lewis Taylor and have been rinsing ever since. Family also loving 24K Magic but the family anthem is still undoubtedly Stromzy's Shut Up.

JJ and J

Met JJ and Jeggs (Jeremy) for some evening beers on Artillary Lane by Liverpool Street TS.  Nice company and both are old school friends of 30+ years.

In the morning I ran in and it was tough. My cycling legs are causing all kinds of havoc with my running.  I basically got to the top of Sydenham Hill and then whilst running down my quads tightenened up, the left side more so. It meant I had to walk a little and bide my time. Got to work in 1hr 29 minutes a new personal worst.  I was absolutely shattered in all of my morning meetings and only started to feel normal again in the afternoon. With jogging 5 or so ks to meet the boys it was roughly 22ks for the day.

The run in was made easier by ATCQ being blasted. Their new album is pretty good. A note to self: I am always a lot happier when listening to music.

Rain

Pouring rain all day and so ditched the ride. First commute in bloody ages.
Hectic day but managed 10k at lunch and then some junk to and fro from train station. 15ish ks not feeling great at any stage.

Ryder Westerham

Woke early to belting rain with the forecast storm hitting but amazingly the game was still on and so Ryder and I sped out into the countryside for the game against Westerham FC (Churchills home).

I have said it before but 4 of the 8 boys on R's team are already on professional books and are crazy good. It's actually quite scary. One boy (still 6!!!) hits a proper shot with both feet. There is a black boy called Thierry who plays uncannily like his namesake. I was very proud as the little man got walloped by a ball in his chops but did not cry. I would have cried my eyes out (even today).

Afternoon at Lukie's performance in Bromley.

* Jack still out injured. It's a worry.
** The boys winning streak continues. I reckon it's about 15 won lost none. I would gladly swap 1 for cpfc

Monday oh boy Monday

Teeming with rain so the train it was. God I hate the train.

Quick stretch then into a relentless morning and arvo sandwiched by 10k at 4s feeling rubbish.

Home late. On the bleeding train too.

Park Run

Got up late and so arrived at Norman Park with the 500 or so already lined up. An intimidating sight. My timing was impeccable and had pleasant company in Daniel (starting new job) and Messi. My watch had no GPS signal but guessing we jogged round in low 4s. Then the jog home with Messi.

Lunch hit the bike wirh my bike Ryder. The little boy is an utter joy.

In the arvo Jack and I hitched a lift with B and Ollie to Selhurst. Oh my, I am only going at the moment because we have season tickets. I admit it is grim. Pardew needs to sort it out. There are basic things he gets wrong week in week out. We are in a dog fight. Safe to say the mood was well below average on Saturday night.

Burgers

In and home and ran 6x 800ms. Feeling not too shabby.

Home in time to take family for Friday night burgers. It's becoming a ritual. This time stayed away from the Oreo milkshake which last time gave me a 3 day food hangover.

MKM. And Kunle.

Had to be in office early so rode in and then had to leg it back for drs apt before heading to old school reunion at Chistlehurst golf club where I met MKM, Jason, Kunle and Adrian for lunch.

At lunch sat next to Kunle who was 2 years above me at school. One of the most inspiring people I have met for a country moon. Actually does shit. His cv is largely charity based. We share the same passion for inner city youth. Though he puts me to shame.  Work wise he has a bunch of Premier league footballers as clients. Say no more.

Legged it home before taking Lukie to his training and messed around with Ryder (still #6) and is in an amazing phase of his life and is a complete happy chappy. Love being around him and can claim to be a 30%  daddy's boy. The average % for the other 3 is typically well below 10%.

50k plus covered on bike today as rode to Chistlehurst too.

Fitty

Work insane but commuted in and home and ran 10k at 4s during the day. 50k done.

Tommy #13

My yoot 13. TeeenAGER.

Rode in and home and jogged 6ks early.

Family dinner in the evening with Omi and Grandad. Nice

Big

Rode the Defy in quickly in circa 38mins. Really good going when you take into consideration the lights. Then hit the gym for an intensive 30mins of strength. Ran 10k at 4s at lunch and then rode home trying hard to not get killed.

Winning streaks

Boys' winning streak continues with Lukie and J both winning again today. Stunning winter's day. Got out for 9k in the late arvo.

* Lots of fun with Ryder kicking balls together whilst Lukie playing his game.
