Charlton Athletic FC

Usual busy day but did ride in and then off the cuff decided I would go to watch Jack's game against Charlton at their training ground. KO was 5.15 and had a 4.30 but was hoping to get over to East London for the second half.

This is the beauty of the bike knowing that you can get anywhere in London in 30-45 minutes.  So post the 4.30 I sprinted down to the gym to get changed and peddled the 25 or so ks east through London Bridge, Bermondsey (London marathon route backwards), Deptford high street, Lewisham, Eltham and finally there. Google maps is a legend. Arrived exactly for the second half. Not sure what the locals thought though when I turned up in Lycra but who cares.

Jack was off color. Suffering with a cold and already having started new secondary school this week I could tell he was not well. Not only has he had the new school intro to contend with but has also had his school start exams which grade you as well as school rugby trials. It's been a massive week for him and he's tired. They want him to trial there but not sure about that.

On a brighter note he did get into the rugby 1st team which is no mean feet in a large rugby crazed school. Tommy also got a school prize for his art so all up a good week.

Post the game I then physched myself up for more Kms home. 50+ for the day and some strength at lunch.
